This most fantastical of sword brooches has a grip and guard made of octopus tentacles. The sterling silver rapier is three-dimensional, and the tentacles are highly detailed. A faceted orange stone is set in its hilt like a single, glaring eye. The brooch fastens with a c-clasp. The back of the blade bears English hallmarks for sterling, Chester, and the year 1904. It is also stamped with the maker's mark "C.H." for Charles Horner. This brooch screams Pirates of the Caribbean, though it predates the first film by 100 years.
