Rainbow Moonstone differs from regular moonstone, because it has an adularescence surface, giving off the full spectrum of colour as the light changes.

Due to it's shimmering colours and moonlike appearance, the ancient romans believed that this beautiful gem was formed when moonlight solidified and fell to earth.
