Henri Lavabre owned a workshop on rue Tiquetonne in Paris where between 15 and 20 expert workmen crafted superb jewelry and objects of art. From 1906 to 1921 they worked exclusively for Cartier, and continued to fulfill commissions until the 1930s. They completed some of Cartier’s most exquisite and complicated designs, producing enamel objects, cigarette boxes, table clock cases, tiaras, bracelets and necklaces. In 1936, the workshop assembled Daisy Fellowes’s famous Hindu necklace for Cartier.
